Students help make a success of centre opening

MEMBERS of Carlton le Willows’ table tennis team spent the day coaching pupils from local primary schools as a prelude to the official opening of the Academy’s brand new table tennis centre.

Children from eight feeder schools visited during Carlton le Willows on 12th September, enjoying the chance to see the state-of-the-art facility firsthand and get the benefit of expert advice from some of the Academy’s top table tennis players.

The Year 9 students showed professionalism, kindness and dedication as they worked throughout the day with a series of different groups of children.

At the end of the day, they got the chance to hone their on skills duringĀ a masterclass with six times Commonwealth medallist and GB team table tennis coach Alan Cooke.

That same evening, some of the students also attended the grand opening event, displaying their skills in front of the invited guests.
