Students’ professionalism leads to Italian job

THREE Carlton le Willows students recognised for their professionalism and entrepreneurial spirit have been rewarded with the chance to sell their homemade products in Italy.

Moyege Oke, Elise Long and Charlotte Smith were among just nine students from across Nottinghamshire selected to take part in the first ever international YouNG Market, which saw them selling their wares at a market in Parco deglu Acquedotti in Rome this weekend.

The students were chosen after each held a stall selling their own handmade goods  at summer markets organised by YouNG, which aims to help young people develop their employability skills.

Elise (Year 9) sold homemade cakes, Year 9 Charlotte sold a range of gifts decorated with pyrography and Year 11 Moyege sold African scarves and headbands.

Organisers said’ “We believe these students are some of the best representatives for the talents of young people that we have seen and we would like to give them the opportunity to express that on an international stage.”
